Okay but think about the first time that McGonagall saw Sirius Black after learning he was innocent. She’d see what Azkaban took from him; a mischievous, handsome youth robbed of his freedom, his friends, his family. She’d probably wonder how she could have ever thought he’d betray James Potter. And then she’d say something like, “Sit down and have a biscuit, Sirius,” as she used to do when he’d come to her office riled up. And Sirius would just look at her for a moment before hugging her, shoulders shaking with grief, because he’d spent so much time mourning James and Lily that he’d never had a chance to mourn what he’d lost of himself.
but why does sirius black have prison tattoos in the prisoner of azkaban movie? is there a strong prison culture in azkaban? did he find a non death eater or two to bond with? he literally has tattoos on each of his fingers what did he do over those 12 years do they have movie nights and crazy high jinx involving contraband what exactly happens in azkaban

which means he spends the anniversary of his best friend’s death ripping apart the place they grew up together
The thing that hurts me the most about Sirius and Harry is that when they looked at each other they were both hoping to see James
But really can you imagine how much fun Harry would have had with an animagus as a father? James giving little five year old Harry stag-rides on his back prancing along in the backyard, James going to “mow the lawn” and then Harry looks out his window and dies of laughter when he sees a stag just casually grazing the grass, Harry yelling “DAD!” when he sees an antler poking out of a bush as he tries to have a moment with Ginny.
And idk I feel like James would turn every now and then just to clear his head if he’s feeling overwhelmed and one night Harry can’t sleep because of similar reasons and he goes to the backyard and sees a stag sitting on the grass and he doesn’t say anything but Harry goes over sits down next to James and just stays there because it’s so easy and so natural and not weird at all.

OH MY GOD
No but just imagine James, Sirius, and Peter being exhausted after the night of the full moon and being ridiculed by the professors as they’re trying not to fall asleep in class and being called arrogant and selfish by Snape and being told off by Lily for being lazy and they can’t tell anyone that they just spent an entire night caring for a werewolf so they remain quiet and take the scoldings like the brave boys they are.
